About Me and My Blog

I’m Cariel (pronounced Carrie-L), and I’m so glad you’re here!

I want to take a moment to explain why and how I decided to create this blog to share with you.

I’ve always cared about living clean and healthy. I’ve always tried to take care of our Earth… but in a world so industrialized, I still hadn’t completely made the switch.

That is, until I was forced into a healthier lifestyle because of Acid Reflux.

Acid Reflux was wreaking havoc on my day-to-day health and joy. After a while, it got to the point where I was so tired of the inflammation and hurting that I made a conscious effort to reevaluate my entire lifestyle. I kept thinking, ” I cannot live like this anymore.”

I had tried to change before, but I just couldn’t and wasn’t ready to change.

My physician wrote me a prescription for PPIs but I wanted to go a more natural route. I knew there had to be a more proactive way to support my body’s systems and health naturally.

So, after some deep research, I made three big changes; I stopped consuming dairy, processed foods, and sugar.

It wasn’t hard, exactly, but it wasn’t easy, either. I had to learn a lot to find replacements for the foods I loved, and started learning what ingredients to use and how to prepare them from scratch.

And honestly… the results were amazing!!

Within two weeks all the inflammation from my esophagus disappeared and I could breath so much better. Also my bursitis in my hips ceased to exist.

I was totally blown away.

I learned that what I put in my body directly affected the way I felt, so I made it a priority to make healthier choices. Today, my mantra is, “If you take care of your body, it will take care of you.”

When I reflect on that time, I was just at a point in my life where I had tried everything and nothing worked. The medical field’s solution was to give me a pill instead of finding the root cause of my problem.

I am happy to say, I no longer have acid reflux by leading a healthier lifestyle with better choices and exercise. (I also invested in the Pivot Protocol by Christian Nix and his program helped me tremendously with my health journey.)

I also found that the more I took care of my body, the more those same principals carried over into my home environment. It just made sense, once I realized how chemical-laden modern products geared toward convenience really are – and how harmful that is to us, and all the life around us.

These posts in my blog are about healthy choices and things I want to share that have worked for me in my daily life that can help you too!!!!!

Happy Healing!!

Affiliate Marketer Disclaimer

I am an Amazon affiliate marketer.

That means that whenever I want to recommend an awesome product that I think you’ll love, I drop a link into my blog post that you can click on. When you click the link, a new Amazon tab to that product opens in your internet browser window.

If you decide to buy the product that I’ve linked within 24 hours, or if you add it to your Amazon cart and purchase it within 30 days, I may get a small commission (I’ll get paid by Amazon, too) from the sale.

This is at no additional cost to you.

And, I only ever link products that I’ve personally used, or that I think will make it easier and safer for you to try the projects and recipes that I post about.

If I haven’t tried and tested the item I’ve linked myself, then I do deep research and lots of comparison shopping to ensure that I’m linking an item that I would feel comfortable buying and using in my own life.

I definitely view this as a win-win for both of us because, even though I do make a small income from the program, I’m actually able to share with you the ingredients and products that makes life cleaner, healthier, and supports wonderful companies, and you can just click and buy without having to do a ton of research yourself.

I hope you use, enjoy, and get fantastic results from anything that you decide to purchase through my links!

Medical Disclaimer

In my blog, one of my favorite topics is using natural products and natural ingredients to boost wellness. I know the strength and power of herbs and natural healing because I’ve used them myself or because others have vouched for their effectiveness.

However, I am not a doctor or medical or holistic professional.

I cannot presume to diagnose or cure any health concerns you may need help with.

I cannot guarantee that any of the natural options that I suggest will help you, and I cannot ensure that they will not harm you.

If you decide to try any of the projects or recipes that I offer in my blog, please know that you do so at your own risk.

I thoroughly research everything that I post, provide resources that I’ve used, and I try to make sure that I add warnings and disclaimers whenever appropriate.

That said, anything that you take into or put onto your body or into your living space can create unforeseen negative reactions or consequences (including, but certainly not limited to, allergic reactions.)

If you’re concerned in any way about your health or safety, before, during, or after you decide to try a natural route, please, please consult with your personal physician.

And always remember to do your own research!

AI Policy

In alignment with my personal ethos about creativity, personal agency, and being kind to the environment, DIY Healthy Green Living does not use generative AI for anything unless I have no other option. (For example when asking for help troubleshooting snags on my WordPress site, which is only possible via an AI chatbot.)

I am not entirely opposed to AI, but I do want my content and personal life to be as authentic, natural, and hands-on as possible.

This means that this website, and the content written in it, is completely designed and written by a human being. Further, the research done to create these posts is also completely undertaken by a real person, as well!

Who Writes My Posts?

I, Cariel, write some of my posts and content, and all of the ideas about content and design are my own. But, my helper and blog writer is my lovely niece, Emily Waldroup.

I really wanted to be transparent about this with my audience – and if you need or want to hire a content/copywriter for your own needs, I highly recommend you check out her services! She’s amazing.
